Democracy, the Military and the Military Left.
| Description: | The proposal reflects the theoretical development of a study group linked to the FFC/Unesp and active since 2012, entitled “The Military and the Military Left in Brazil” and, as a Research Group, aims to brisk up and deepen a line of investigation in order to analyze and rescue a thematic axis that is little explored, not to say pioneer among studies related to politics and the military, in addition to providing another dimension related to the political participation of these actors, including police officers, and their relationship with society; the proposal focuses on those military personnel who engage in “Political Actions” from a perspective that favors the democratization of their institutions as well as the recognition and legitimacy of their presence in the debate and in projects that involve democracy and the nation issues, as well as the strengthening of the Lawful Democratic State. |

The research group “Slavery and the invention of freedom” has been operating with regular biweekly meetings since 1997, periodically promoting lectures, seminars, colloquia and other events. Since its foundation, the group has been formed by professors and students of the UFBA Graduate Program, as well as professors and researchers from other institutions in Bahia and outside the state, all interested in the theme of black people from a historical perspective. History of the Portuguese America.
| Description |
Encourage research on the colonial history of Bahia, since recent Bahian historiography focuses on other historical periods, and that concerning the colonial period focuses more on aspects related to the “city of Bahia”, as Salvador was called, focusing on major themes around slavery, local power, and gender. It should be noted that the captaincies and other inland regions that came to form the current State of Bahia are very little studied, especially in terms of their internal processes and relationships with the political-administrative center of the Portuguese America. However, there is a very rich source of manuscript documents produced in the colonial centuries in collections scattered throughout these regions that need to be surveyed, described, cataloged, and finally, recognized in order to be studied from a historical perspective, thus enabling the deepening and broadening of the history of Bahia and its relation to the history of Brazil. |

Public policies and school management: contemporaneity and sociocultural aspects.
| Description: | The Research Group, which is made up of researchers, professors, PhDs, post-docs, masters, graduate students and technical-administrative staff, is linked to the Professional Master’s Degree in Management and Technology Applied to Education (GESTEC) in the Research Line of Education Management and Social Networks (Department of Education I) of the State University of Bahia. Its overall objective is to establish a dialogue between research conducted in higher education and basic education in order to enable the production of knowledge, having as locus the School Units where GESTEC students perform, with the goal of relating the development of public policies in the area of education, emphasizing the management aspects based on theoretical foundation the Humanities and Social Sciences: History, Philosophy, Law, and emphasizing aspects of contemporaneity: cultural studies, knowledge and new technologies. The group of researchers has a relevant production in publications, events and various media. |
