Graduate Program in History
The Graduate Program in History (https://www.poshistoria.uneb.br/) was approved by Resolution NÂş 1.062/2014 (State’s Official Gazette of August 5, 2014, p. 19) of the University Council of the State University of Bahia (CONSU-UNEB) and recommended by the Scientific and Technical Board for Higher Education (CTC-ES) of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) on March 26, 2015. Also in 2015, the first selection process for the academic master’s degree in history was held. The effective start of PPGH activities took place on February 15, 2016. Since then, we have had the admission of 10 (ten) master’s degree classes by 2025.
Mission
To train professionals capable of producing historical research, teaching History and promoting scientific dissemination of excellence, contributing to social transformation in the context in which they are inserted, regional development and the internalization of postgraduate studies.
Vision
To be a nation-wide reference program in the field of History and in the capacity-building of professionals who work in the social, economic and cultural development of the region in which the program is inserted.

Curricular Structure
-
• 8 (eight) credits in 2 (two) Mandatory Subjects;

• 8 (eight) credits in 2 (two) Elective Subjects;

• 4 (four) credits in Supervised Teaching Internship;
-
• 4 (four) credits in Supervised Research I, II, III and IV;

• 4 (four) credits in the Qualifying Exam;

• 6 (six) credits in the Dissertation Defense.
